The Ghana United Supporters Union (GUSU) has received a morale-boosting sponsorship package of GH¢ 10,000 from micro-finance giants, Dwadifo Adanfo.
Dwadifo Adanfo becomes the latest major brand to associate itself with Ghana's most professional and fastest-growing supporters group, GUSU. This comes after the group had undertaken a series of successful projects with multinational brands such as Nissan and the UNAIDS.
The sponsorship package will cater for the transportation, accommodation, feeding etc for over 250 GUSU members to go watch the match in Kumasi.
At a short presentation at the head office of Dwadifo Adanfo in Asylum Down, Accra, National Coordinator of GUSU, Mr. Larry Acheampong, who received the cheque said he was optimistic that the arrangement was the start of a long term relationship between the two bodies.
"We always strive to make corporate brands satisfied by fulfilling our promises. We hope that this arrangement will be the beginning of a long profitable partnership between us," Mr. Acheampong said.
He also urged other corporate bodies to emulate Dwadifo Adanfo’s example, adding that "apart from supporting the national teams, GUSU uses ‘Sports for Sanitation’, an innovative program that engages the youth to engage in cleanup and other communal activities."
Ms Love Aboagye, General Manager of Dwadifo Adanfo who presented the cheque on behalf of her company was also delighted at prospect of working with GUSU.
"We are very pleased excited by this arrangement seeing that GUSU has a good track of promoting brands and their messages. We also hope that this arrangement between GUSU and Dwadifo Adanfo will be fruitful and the start to many more".
In a related development, GUSU will present the first set of ID cards to its newly registered members in Kumasi before the match between Ghana and Egypt.
Dwadifo Adanfo has its key objects as providing micro-finance products and services for the informal sector, petty traders and SME's.
