Broadcast Rights owners of the Ghana Premier League Supersport have revealed that their doors are wide open for all television channels that are ready to televise the upcoming league matches for free coverage.

At the launch of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League at the headquarters of the Ghana Football Association, representative of Supersport, Kennedy Yirenkyi Appah said his outfit is ready to partner with any broadcast media house that wants to televise live and delayed matches.

He added that they have reached an agreement with state broadcasters GTV to show some of the matches live and delayed and are still negotiating with other stations as well.

"Our doors have been open since the day we signed the contract with the GFA but it appears TV stations are reluctant.

We wish to reiterate that any TV station that wants to show the upcoming matches should come to us and we will sanction that,"Yirenkyi said.

"We have made available all the tapes of matches played last season for highlights but they are still here, nobody came for them. So any station that is ready should just come and we will give them the go ahead and they will do it for free," he added.

He went on further to advice the Ghanaian media to dedicate a lot of airtime to talk about the local league as done in South Africa and Kenya and do less of foreign sports.

"Let's ensure that we dedicate much time to talk about our own league because it is the publicity we give it that will whet the appetite of the fans.

Kenya and South Africa talk about their leagues more than any other to increase the local interest. We can do same to help our game," he concluded.

The Ghana Premier League is expected to kickoff on Saturday 20th February with the clash between WAFA and Asante Kotoko as the opener.
