Head of Coach of Aduana Stars, Yussif Abubakar has disclosed that, he was full of confidence that his side would beat Dreams FC in Saturday’s G-8 tournament opener which ended 6-5 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Abdul Rahman Fatawu’s goal was all that the Ghana Premier League champions needed to overcome Dreams FC. Coach Yussif Abubakar revealed that, despite the solitary goal win, he was confident of victory.

“I knew we were going to win. We wanted to see how the movement will be. Before the game, we strategised we should score two goals in the first half, so that in the second half, we will look at them to run” he said.

“I wasn’t happy they didn’t score the second goal in the second half. I told them they should make sure there’s no equalizer.

“We knew what we were doing, we allowed them to make a lot of running, and they were doing it very well and playing aggressively” the coach told journalists in his post-match interview.

Coach Abubakar also talked about his unhappiness with his team’s pressing. “I was not happy with the low pressing because we needed to do the medium or the high pressing. We will be able to correct that in our subsequent games” he said.
