GFA to punish referee Lathbridge

The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) are expected to make a decision on referee Reginald Lathbridge after making a mistake while filling a match report some months ago.

The experienced referee while filling his report after Elmina Sharks vs Bechem United clash on match-day seven, wrongfully recorded a booking for Bechem United Joseph Amoah instead of Sharks’s Felix Addo, which made Amoah ineligible to feature against Hearts but the player did feature which renders him unqualified.

But Lathbridge after seven months was made to do the correction which has caused a deadlock with regards to the start of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League as Great Olympics seek redress in the law courts.

According to Chairman of the Premier League Board Eddie Doku, referee Lathbridge will be dealt with after bringing the game into disrepute.

He said, “Ref Reginald Lathbridge is still on our cards but a decision will be taken on him at the EXCO level because he has brought the game into disrepute,” Doku told Oyerepa FM.
