The President of the Ghana Football Association has hinted that the federation is making frantic efforts to institutionalize the Football Brainstorming Summit recently held in Cape Coast as one of the strategies to transform Ghana football.

He made disclosure during the Q&A session of the 2-17 Summit in Cape Coast adding it is a corporate practice which the FA is adopting to aid the running of football in the country.

“It’s a common practice in the corporate world and we have adopted it with the believe that it will enhance the value of the FA,” Nyantakyi said.

He explained further that the FA wanted to switch from the traditional method of always engaging ExCo members in such interactions to invite other stakeholders for the summit.

“We also realised that it is important to engage people outside the Executive Committee for their views. So this might be a regular feature on an annual basis like what other public organizations do as retreats,” he noted.

Throwing more light on the Summit, he said: “This one has been a bit different from the previous ones. But we do yearly reviews usually in Accra at ExCo meetings or at Congress.

“But this time we decided to spend more time because of the volume of work and the increasing interest that has been shown in football,” he added.

The 2017 Summit saw the participation of the Premier League Board, the Division One League Board, the Ghana League Clubs Association, the Professional Footballers Association and the media represented by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana.
