The Ghana Football Association is set to appoint a new Black Stars head coach within the next one to two weeks, according to its president Kurt Okraku.
Speaking after the dismissal of Otto Addo, Okraku indicated that the FA is moving quickly to secure a replacement as Ghana intensifies preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
“We will have a new coach in a week or two,” Okraku said to 3Sports, signalling urgency in the search for a successor.
Addo was relieved of his duties following a series of disappointing results, including defeats to Austria and Germany, with the decision taken after a late-night meeting in Stuttgart.
The FA has since begun evaluating both local and foreign candidates, with several names already linked to the role as Ghana looks to stabilise the team ahead of key international fixtures.
Ghana are scheduled to face Mexico and Wales in May, leaving limited time for the new coach to assess the squad and implement ideas before the World Cup.
The Black Stars have been drawn in a challenging group alongside Panama, Croatia and England, increasing the importance of a timely and decisive appointment.
