The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has indicated that its members and the entire senior national team, the Black Stars of Ghana, will pray against a doom prophecy that the team will be involved in a plane crash.

Prophet Reindolph Oduro Gyebi, the General Overseer of God’s Crown Chapel in Kumasi, predicted that Ghana's senior national team, the Black Stars, will be involved in a fatal plane crash in September. He also prophesied that the country's legend Abedi Pele will die this year.

He made the claims while preaching on a radio station in Kumasi.

But speaking in an interview with Accra Sports on Monday June 19, the Public Relations Officer of the GFA, Ibrahim Saani Daara laughed off the prophecy.

“We will pray over this prophecy and we are sure this prophecy shall not pass,” Mr Daara said.

Meanwhile, the Ayews have also rubbished the prophecy about Abedi.

Pele’s brother, Sola Ayew told journalists that: “Tell the pastor that we don’t fear death in our family. We are Muslims and we don’t fear death. Our mother Madam Adiza died. Our father Mr Ayew also died and our brother Brimah also died”.
