Former Ghana Football Association president, Alhaji Lepowura MND Jawula has accused premier league clubs in the country of being responsible for the lack sponsorship of league.

The new Premier League season will begin on February 20 but without a headline sponsor as First Capital Plus Bank, now Capital Bank has suspended their sponsorship responsibilities.

The Ghana Football Association has made it clear that suspension is alien to the agreement signed with the financial institution two years ago, but they insist their relationship with the football governing body has been halted.

Ghanaian football fans and clubs accused the FA of not been proactive and marketing the league to attract corporate sponsors, but Alhaji MND Jawula thinks otherwise.

“It’s not about the GFA doing something right or wrong. It’s about we ourselves (football clubs) truncating the league and therefore not allowing our sponsors to enjoy their mileage.

“Truncating the league to go to court and committees,” Jawula told Accra based Starr FM.
