GFA explains why Razak Brimah has not paid fine

Razak Brimah Razak Brimah

The Ghana Football Association spokesperson, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has revealed that the reason why Razak Braimah has not paid his fine is because the Sports Ministry is yet to clear outstanding bonuses due the team.

Braimah was slapped with a $2,500 fine by the GFA for insulting Ghanaians via his official Facebook Page during the 2017 AFCON.

The Cordoba shot stopper in his social media attack on Ghanaians frequently used the ‘F’ word.

In over four months after the competition, the GFA has not collected the fine they imposed on the player.

And Daara has stressed that the reason why the GFA have failed to administer the fine slapped on Braimah is because of the outstanding bonuses owed team.

“We had wanted to administer the fine in the immediate assignment after the Nations Cup which is the current qualifier [against Ethiopia] but we all know Razak was not invited for this game,” he told Kessben FM.

“The thing also is that the team is owed some monies from the African Cup so we have been unable to implement the sanction.”
