The Ghana Football Association have denied reports that they are on the verge of securing a deal with Samsung to sponsor the Ghana Premier League.

Reports emerged on Monday that some executives of the GFA had met officials of Samsung to reach a sponsorship agreement.

But the GFA denied those claims and stated they have not contacted Samsung but are working hard to get a headline sponsor for the Ghana Premier League.

We have not reached any agreement or have a deal with Samsung to sponsor the league. Honestly, I don’t know where those reports are coming from,” said communications director of the GFA, Ibrahim Saani Daara.

“What I can say is that the FA is doing everything possible to ensure we get a sponsor for the league, and as soon as we are able to do that we will communicate to Ghanaians.”

The current GPL is without Sponsorship after First Capital Plus Bank withdrew their package before the start of the season.
