GFA admits difficulties in employing new coach

The Ghana Football Association has admitted facing difficulties in appointing a new coach to take charge of the Black Stars and says it could a little bit longer to confirm Claude Le Roy's successor.

The Ghana coaching job became vacant after the Frenchman terminated his contract with the Football Association in May.

"We set ourselves certain deadlines to meet.First,to get a coach before the start of qualifying series which destructed our management attention,'' GFA president,Kwesi Nyantakyi told Ghanasoccernet.com.

"On top of that there were also difficulties the details may be far below what the coaches demand and that has also been a problem," he added.

The Football Association has held talks with more than 10 foreign coaches but is yet to announce the new man to spearhead their 2010 World Cup campaign and some coaches have been linked to the job in the past weeks.

"We have heard a lot of names and I think people should be patient and allow us us do the work.If you push us to your own agenda and you expect us name a coach or a specific coach,you bring a lot of pressure to yourself," Nyantakyi said.

The GFA is expected to name a coach before the joint 2010 qualifiers resume in September with an away match against Libya in Tripoli.
