GFA Slams Fake World Cup squad reports

The Ghana Football Association has rubbished reports in the local media claiming head coach Milovan Rajevac has picked his final 23-man squad ahead of their pre-tournament camping.

It is been rumoured that goalkeeper Daniel Adjei, Jonathan Mensah, Rahim Ayew, Bernard Yao Kumordzi, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie, Haminu Dramani and Dominic Adiyiah have been dropped from the 30-man provisional squad named last week.

Reports say the Serb has forwarded the names of his choice to the country’s kit sponsor Puma for the mass production of replica jerseys.

But the Ghana Football Association has poured cold water on those reports saying

“The FA has not forwarded any list to Puma, in fact that has not been the normal practice. Usually, they (Puma) send as the apparels with numbers embossed on them for us to verify the quality. When we are satisfied with it (the kits), we go ahead to inscribe the names on the jerseys according to the list provided by the coach,” Ghana FA Vice-President Fred Pappoe exclusively told Ghanasoccernet.com

Ghana’s pre-World Cup training camping will begin from 24-27 May in Paris, France before playing Holland on 1 June in Rotterdam and Latvia four days later in England.
