GFA Executive Committee endorse GHALCA's suspension

Accra, Dec. 9, GNA - The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has endorsed the decision by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) to suspend all football related matters until further notice.

The suspension by GHALCA comes in the wake of the raid of the GFA Secretariat by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) last Tuesday. "The GFA offices would remain closed until otherwise directed," the GFA said in a statement on its official website culled by GNA Sports on Thursday.

"The Premier and Division One Leagues as well as FA Cup have been suspended. All national team assignments have also been put on hold. "We ask for your understanding and co-operation on these matters," the statement added.

By the decision, the ultimate matches of the first round of the 2010/2011 Premier League scheduled for this weekend will therefore not come on as planned.
