GFA Considering Sale of Land

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association is considering selling the $40,000 plot of land earmarked for the construction of the F.A’s new Secretariat at East Cantonments in Accra.

The move is due to complaints by some members that the plot cannot accommodate and facilitate the functions of the FA due to its size.

The parcel of land was purchased by the previous administration headed by Alhaji M.N.D. Jawula. The newly formed Finance Committee has been charged to implement the council’s report on the proposed construction of a new secretariat for the F.A.

Amongst the task of the Finance Committee is also to normalise all documents in respect to the acquisition of the parcel of land at Cantonments.

Chairman of the council, Alhaji Y.A Ibrahim said after the committee completes its job it would then consider putting up the parcel of land for sale.
