GCBL holds family fun day games

Ghana Commercial Bank Limited (GBCL) on Saturday held family fun day games for its staff in the Accra and Tema metropolis at the Legon botanical garden. It aimed at creating opportunity for staff of the bank to interact and have quality time with their families away from their normal busy schedules.

The well-attended event dubbed: “GCB, 60 years of service to the nation, customers, businesses and communities”, saw Simon Dornoo, Managing Director of the Bank, opened the occasion as he joined staff to play table tennis and football.

Mrs Thyra Obuobi, Head of Corporate Affairs of GCBL, said the family fun day also took place in other regions nationwide as part of activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the bank.

“This is a way of engaging staff members to bring families together away from work and to create a common platform as well as an environment to help them increase productivity under healthy conditions,” she said.

Mrs Obuobi said the event was to help staff to know themselves very well and share new ideas since there were more than 20 GCBL branches within the Accra and Tema metropolis.

The Accra zone emerged winners in the tag-of-peace competition by triumphing over the head office. In the football match the head office won 2-1 against the GCBL union.

Other games were sack race, lime-on-spoon race, ludo, snooker, draught, and table tennis. The children also had their separate games.

There was competition among the women for the popular Azonta dance which hyped the excitement at the Garden.
