GBA outdoor Regional Outreach Committee

Peter Zwennes, President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) says taking boxing to every corner of corner is key to raising the standards of the sport and has tasked members of the newly launched Regional Outreach Committee to collaborate with national and regional executives in order to realize the objective of expanding the boxing horizon.

Mr. Zwennes commissioned the 10-member committee in the Central Region last weekend to spearhead what he said is the initiative of his administration to popularize boxing all over the country.

“Before taking office, I made a pledge to decentralize boxing to every region and that’s just what we’ve started. Now we can take the sport to the grassroots through the work of this committee as well as identify and groom more talents,” Zwennes said after officially inaugurating the new team in a ceremony at the Cape Coast Municipal Assembly.

lsaac Grantson, Gideon Quartey, Twintoh Walker, Sam Akroma, Nana Yaw Konadu, Oman Sanda, Nana Ato Fynn, Ben Tawiah, Naa Darkwah Dodoo and Theophilus Armah make up the new committee tasked with the huge responsibility. The GBA President encouraged them to collaborate with all stakeholders to achieve their set objectives.

“I urge the board and the outreach committee to work together by monitoring all activities in each region, that’s how best we can nurture more talents and raise the standard of boxing in the regions,” Mr. Zwennes appealed.
