G/A Regional Sports Festival opens at Dodowa

Accra, June 24, GNA - This year's Greater Accra Regional Sports Festival opens at Dodowa in the Dangme West District on Thursday, June 28.

Mr Samuel S. Atuahene, Greater Accra Regional Sports Development Officer, who announced this in Accra on Sunday, said 600 participants and 120 officials from the six districts are expected to participate in the four-day festival of Soccer, Table Tennis, Athletics and volleyball. He named the districts as Accra Metro, Tema Municipal, Ga East, Ga West, Dangme East and Dangme West.

Dangme West will play Accra Metro in the soccer match after the opening ceremony, which will be done by Sheikh I C Quaye, Regional Minister.

Other officials to grace the occasion include Papa Owusu Ankomah, Minister for Education, Science and Sports, Mr Prince Oduro Mensah, Chief Executive of the National Sports Council, and Mr Enoch Teye Mensah, Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram. 24 June 07
