Frimpong to join Wolves on loan

Emmanuel Frimpong will join Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan from January 1 until the end of the season.

The Ghanaian-born midfielder, who has fought back from a serious knee injury that restricted his progress last season, has forced his way back into the first-team reckoning this campaign after making 14 appearances.

Emmanuel will team up with Mick McCarthy’s men when the transfer window officially reopens on January 1, in order to gain valuable first-team experience to progress his development.

The combative midfielder joined Arsenal as an 11-year-old and was a key part of the Arsenal youth team that won the FA Youth Cup in 2009 and the Academy League title a year later, where he partnered Jack Wilshere. Long identified as a future star in the Arsenal set-up, Emmanuel was first selected on the bench for the first-team in the 2008/09 Carling Cup, when he was just 16 years old.

After being destined to make his mark on the Arsenal side in 2010/11, only to see his chances cruelly ended by injury, Emmanuel finally made his full competitive debut in the 0-2 defeat to Liverpool back in August.

Having represented England at youth level, he is still eligible to represent Ghana at senior level if selected.

Everyone at Arsenal wishes Emmanuel the best of luck during his time at Molineux.
