Fred Lawson defends IBF Africa title

against Burkinabe May 25

The IBF Africa Welterweight king, the Ghanaian Beijing 2008 Olympics marvelous, Frederick Lawson will battle it out toe to toe with the Burkinabe boxer, Patrice Sou Toke to defend his crown come May 25, 2013 when they meet at the Accra Sports Stadium for this much awaited duel.

Lawson fondly nicknamed Okumka with a canning metaphor of cruelly disposing his opponents has already made his name in the ring as a non-nonsense boxer who fights the way marvelous Marvin Hagler did in the 80s. He is handsome, cool and has a tendency to smile to his opponents in the ring when punishing them. The marvelous Lawson comes to the fight with 20(19)-0-0 boxing record which makes most his opponents trembling when facing him. He is yet to drop a fight as most of his opponents fight him while running for their dear lives. His mannerism of disposing the opponents is a clear cut business and nobody ever stood his on slaughter except for one insane boxer who stood with him for a long distance and regretted it later. Patrice Sou Toke (17(9)-1-0), a man from Burkina Faso seeks to change the cause of history in Lawson’s boxing life. Sou Touke is completely the opposite of Lawson. Tough, serious and proud, Sou Toke's been handling his boxing enterprises very seriously.

Coming from the county of upright men and beautiful women, Sou Toke's demeanor with his opponents has been quite thorough! But, this time around he will meet his match in Frederick who stands as the most celebrated IBF Continental Africa Welterweight champion.

When all is said and done and the judges have given their verdict ........ or would it reach to that level? The answer to this one billion dollars question will have to wait until May 25, 2013 and the place is the Ghanaian national Sports Stadium in Accra.

Alhaji Inusah Sally, the Managing Director of Inusah Company Limited and marvelous Lawson’s manager and promoter together with US based trainer Joseph Awinongya have lots of hopes for this handsomely Ghanaian macho man, marvelous Lawson and believe that nothing will stand on his way to retain his IBF Africa Welterweight crown.
