Five former national tennis stars based in the United States have come together to boost the 2018 National Ranking Tour 3 by financial incentives into the Ranking Tournament which is currently ongoing at the Accra Sports Stadium Tennis Courts.

The five, led by Roger Crawford, who extended an invitation to all the former players in the States to come under the umbrella of Tennis Foundation Ghana to support in their own small ways, includes Isaac Nunoo, Tetteh Quaye, Nii Dodoo and Victor Steiner. The former National Stars have injected undisclosed amount into the Ranking tournament.

Speaking to Tennisgh.com via Skype, Mr.Victor Steiner said “Tennis helped us a lot and we owe it a duty to give back to society, and this is the little contribution we can do to help bring up the young ones,” he said.

Mr. Steiner further on added “We understand that most of the local best players are featuring in this National Ranking Tour, which has made the quality of the competition to be very high”

Isaac Nunoo also challenged local companies with a corporate responsibility to help stop youth waywardness by helping Tennis Foundation Ghana.

After 4 years of existence of the National Ranking, the prestigious tournament has fallen short due to financial constraints.

Referee Yakubu Lea-Abubakari, the brain behind the National Ranking Tour said, “I am very happy these five former players came back to help our current locals players. This we expert from them and I believe this motivation will go a long way to help the players ".
