Former BoG Governor now President of Guan United FC

Barely a year after resigning from his position Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr. Nashiru Issahaku has ventured into the business of football.

YEN.com.gh understands he has acquired 50% shares of Tamale-based first division side, Guan United Football Club making him the automatic President of the Club.

According to Dr Issahaku, his vision is to make the club, which has been renamed to Tamale City FC, the best in the country with a qualification into the Ghana Premier League being the immediate priority.

The Tamale city FC project, he stated, is aimed at bridging the gap between the North and the South.

He announced a new management of the club consistin of known faces including Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, younger brother of former President Mahama, Mr. Jones Abu Alhassan of Real Tamale United fame, former GFA Chairman, Alhaji M.N.D. Jawula, among others.

Dr Issahaku served as BoG Governor from April 2016 to March 2017 when he resigned citing personal reasons.

Not much has been heard of him since the resignation. YEN.com.gh wishes him well in his new job as club president.
