Abeiku Ainooson could be on his way out of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, after the Porcupine Warriors confirmed that clubs overseas have expressed interest to land him.

Ainooson joined Kumasi Asante Kotoko, two seasons and became an instant household name in the club, after helping them win a historic double of league and FA Cup titles and subsequently won the best defender in the league, as well as the FA Cup most Valuable player cum best defender.

In his second season, he had a slight dip in form due to injuries, but he was one of the reliable defenders of the club and was even shortlisted for the Ghana Premier League defender of the season, but missed out on the award to Baba Mensah of Inter Allies.

Asante Kotoko have indicated that offers have been put on table for Ainooson, but the time is not matured to disclose the identity of the clubs.

“We can’t say much at this stage but there have been interests, Opoku Nti, the General Manager of Kotoko told Kotoko Express, the official mouthpiece of the club.

In line with the above, Abeiku Ainooson was delighted to hear the news of interest from foreign clubs.

“We are in this business to make life better for ourselves and our career. I am pleased to hear those reports. It is good news for me. I am ready for it as long as it has the power to change who I am from good to better or from better to best,” said Abeiku Ainooson.

Abeiku Ainooson’s contract was supposed to end this season, but a one year renewal earlier this season means that Kotoko stand to benefit from his transfer.
