Technical and playing bodies of the Black Stars have aroused the ire of Adom TV’s Patrick Osei Agyemang with their ‘rubbish’ and ‘disgraceful’ display against the Squirrels of Benin in the 2019 AFCON.

A stuttering start to the tournament saw the Black Stars draw 2-2 with Benin at the Ismailia Stadium on Tuesday.

The Stars blew a 2-1 lead to draw with Benin who had the benefit of numerical advantage after defender John Boye was sent off for delaying a restart of the game.

The disappointing result has angered the ‘Fire Man’ who has slammed coach Kwesi Appiah and his charges for ‘shamefully disgracing the president’ who was present at the Ismailia Stadium.

On the Wednesday edition of his Fire for Fire show, Songo described the team’s performance as ‘rubbish, foolish and nonsense’.

He questioned the team’s spirit and character and warned them to beat Cameroon or risk the wrath of the entire nation. “Their performance was very rubbish and unpleasant. Ghana’s president was at the stadium and look at the disgrace they’ve brought him. Benin cut them to size. If you can’t beat Benin then how can you beat Cameroon? The Black Stars is not small”.

Directing his anger at coach Kwesi Appiah, Songo said “To coach the Black Stars is a big honour. No one is afraid of you. You and your players are joking with the team but we will fire you. What we saw on Tuesday was total rubbish”.

The Black Stars will hope to regain the love and confidence of Ghanaians and Songo when they face defending champions Cameroon at the same stadium on Saturday.

Defender John Boye will be serving a one-match ban while winger Thomas Agyepong will miss the game because of an injury he sustained in the Benin.
