Five-member team appointed for Kotoko

Kumasi, Oct 1, GNA -- Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene and Life Patron of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club has appointed a five-member team to administer the affairs of the Club.

The team has Mr Sylvester Asare-Owusu as Chairman.

Other members are Messrs George Amoako, Jerry Asare, Kwame Baa Nuako and Kwame Boafo.

The appointment of the five came barely two weeks ago after the dissolution of the P.V. Obeng led Board of Directors and the subsequent appointment of Opoku Afriyie and Kwame Boafo by the Asantehene to manage the affairs of the Club.

At a ceremony at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Saturday, the Asantehene urged the newly appointed team to work together with a purpose of unity to salvage the Club from its present financial crisis. =93It was time to end the woes of the Club=94, he said, urging the members to bring their collective experience to bear in steering the Club to regain its past glory.

Mr Asare-Owusu on behalf of the members thanked the Asantehene for the trust reposed in them and assured him of their resolve to achieve success adding that they would not let him and the Kotoko fraternity down.
