Five More New Stadia for Ghana

The Ghanaian Government has approved the construction of five new stadiums in its five regions with work to begin in 2008 and 2009 according to inform gathered by the sports desk of ARK FM.
In the 2008 Budget Statement and Economic Policy, Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, minister of Finance and Economic Planning added that the government's current focus on the sports sub-sector was the hosting of the MTN Africa Cup of Nations tournament from January 20 to February 10 and that financial and logistical support would be provided to the Local Organising Committee.
The Minister disclosed that government had spent an amount of $200 million on the development of infrastructures for the Ghana 2008 tournament.
