Five Banks to participate in Achimota Medal Golf

Accra, May 8, GNA - Five banking institutions and two schools would be for the first time participate in this month's Achimota Golf Club Medal Open Championship scheduled for Saturday, May 16. The financial institutions are Ghana Commercial Bank Limited, Barclays Bank of Ghana Limited, Ecobank Ghana Limited, Zenith Bank Ghana Limited and Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited as well as the University of Ghana, Legon and the Achimota Senior High School. Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Club who announced this in Accra on Friday, said the participation of the institutions forms part of the activities marking the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Club.

He said the Club would hold seminars for the educational institutions and that their participation in the competition would also offer them the opportunity to develop their talents through golf. Mr Oteng-Aboagye said the exercise would be extended to embrace more banking institutions and schools in the near future. The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited is sponsoring the competition which would end in December this year. 08 May 09
