Finance Minister killing sports- Kojo Baah Agyemang

Member of Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports Honourable Kojo Baah Agyemang, MP for Asante Akim Agogo North, has launched a blistering attack on the Finance Minister, Seth Tekper.

To him, the dwindling state of sports in the country is linked to the Finance Minister’s lack of interest in sports.

Speaking in an interview yesterday, he said the Finance Minister has consistently slashed budgets meant for sports development in the country hence the poor state of sports.

He stated, “I can confidently say that our Minister for Finance doesn’t even have one interest in sports, he doesn’t care about the direction of our sports, he is so much unconcerned about sports development.”

“They present budget to him and he slashes it off, he asks them, what is the reason for this budget , so if we have somebody like him championing our agenda then … because every development goes through his office. This tells the future of Ghana’s sports; so blur and bleak.”
