For Ecowas Tour 2012 To Roll This Weekend




Twenty- eight cyclists battled it out at this year's regional qualifiers ahead of
the 2nd edition of the Ecowas tour 2012 which begins next month February 13th -20th
from Lagos to La Cote d
ivoire.

The successful 13 cyclists who made through include FrancIs Ebu, David Anarkwa,
Peter Asare and Dickson Poku representing the western and central regions.
Aminu Osman Mohammed and Ghana's
national captain also made it through with an unfriendly headwind interference in 1
hr 25miins in 60KM.

Suyani based wonder cyclist, Anthony Boakye could not make it to the final 13
despite the quality time make up of 1hr 15min. 36secs in 45KM as result of
schooling engagements

The pack of regional qualifiers was held in Accra with in- form Samuel Anim clocking
a time of 1hr 10min in 45KM.Cowbell Tour of Ghana sensation Henry Tetteh Djangmah of
Die Hard Cycling Club made a close shave time of 1hr 11mins 56secs.Nuru Alhassan
Pardie of Velo Stars made a time of 1hr 15mins 50secs.

The rest include Isaac Odonkor and Victor Cudjoe of All Stars,Emmanuel Amoako of
River Park,Joseph Kudakpor of Dome cycling club,and Seth Obodai of HM CYCLING CLUB.

The 13 selected cyclists would further be winnowed to eight (8) after a hectic
national road trial engagement along the Accra Aflao stretch this weekend.
The second edition of the tour comprises 15 west African countries in a pedal grudge
of which the Burkinabes and the Ivorians are expected to be Ghana usual stubborn
guests.
Meanwhile the Ghana Cycling
Federation would want to use this opportunty to wish the Ghana Black Stars all the
best in their next assignment against the Guineans in the ongoing 2012 AFCON Games
in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
