Federation Heads to meet Sports Minister today

The various federations/associations heads will meet the sports minister, Hon. Isaac Asiamah, today at the Accra Sports Stadium Media Center to see the way forward for the various national teams.

The president of the Ghana Swimming Association, Mr. Theophilus Edzie Wilson said they (federations/associations heads) will meet the sports minister and his deputy to discuss about the importance of the ministry funding the various national teams in international competitions.

He stated that , the various federations heads have used their own funds to cater for their administrative works and local championships but they expect the government to come in when the various national teams travel outside for international competitions.

“Various federations have many championships and qualifies but because of lack of funds it makes it difficult for them to attend. Some federations have presented their budget to the Ministry of Youth and Sports but all that they will tell you is no money and when it comes like that it affect athletes,” he told Happy FM.
