Faisal host Hearts on Sunday

Accra, July 27, GNA - Kumasi King Faisal will play host to Accra Hearts of Oak in the second leg of the Olympic Fund Raising Match at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Sunday, August 1.

The overall winner of the two-leg tie wins the Ghana For Gold Challenge Cup donated by Sport One Network Foundation, organisers of the competition, which is under the auspices of the Ghana Olympic Committee.

Faisal won the first leg in Accra a fortnight ago by two goals to one.

To facilitate the contest, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has put its seal on it and informed the Referees Association of Ghana (RAG) to appoint officials for the match.

A statement signed by Mr Kofi Nsiah, General Secretary of the football governing body confirmed the GFA's approval to the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee and requested the organisers to liase with the National Sports Council for the release of the stadium. Proceeds from the match would be donated to Ghana's contingent to the Athens Olympic Games.
