FIFA U-17 WWC: Striker Marriott Pokua aims high ahead of tournament

Black Maidens striker wants to emerge as one of the best scoring players at this year’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.

Pokua, who finished as one Ghana’s top scorer in the qualifiers want to continue her incredible form by scoring in every game at the World Cup.

The former Dansoman Faith Ladies goal poacher remains Ghana’s key asset ahead of the competition which kicks start on November 13 in Uruguay.

The 17-year-old is already aiming for the best at the tournament.

”I know the U17WWC in Uruguay will not be the same as the qualifiers but I am aiming to be the top scorer in any match I play. Despite coming on as a substitute when the given full playing time the World will see a prodigy in the making,” he told StarrSportsgh

Ghana are in the same group with host Uruguay, New Zealand and Finland.

Coach Evans Adotey and her girls are expected to leave the country later this month for some international friendlies.
