The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has expressed its readiness to help fix the terrible condition of the pitch at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of Ghana’s last 2017 Nations Cup qualifier against Rwanda on Saturday September 3.

The National Sports Authority (NSA) let out the facility to various groups over the last few weeks for various programmes, which have impacted the turf’s state negatively.

Speaking to Class Sports, Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Sannie Daara said the FA would intervene to prepare the grounds for the game should they be called upon.

“Under all the difficult circumstances that we face at the moment, we will try our best to help in whichever way we can. As you know, we do not own this facility. We don’t run it. It is owned and managed by the National Sports Authority and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. We will try our best to help in any way we can. The last time we were here, we had to get people to go and mow the pitch and put the pitch together. Anything we can do to help, we will do it,” he stated.
