Ghana FA Cup Committee Vice chairman, Kofi Poku says clubs that fail to honor the preliminary round of the MTN FA Cup over the weekend will be eliminated from the competition.

According to him, all the clubs agreed to the terms and conditions to participate in the competition.

Some Division Two clubs boycotted their matches in protest of the sponsorship details of the MTN contractual agreement with the Ghana Football Association on the FA Cup competition.

The clubs were demanding a full disclosure of the agreement and also protesting the Ghc 1000 given to the clubs as appearance fees to honour a game.

“If a draw is done and the clubs do not play it means the club will lose the points automatically. We are not going to reschedule the game for any club unless it comes with a good reason”, he told Happy FM.

He further said, there will only be consideration if the clubs are able to give an official reason as to why they boycotted the games.

Meanwhile, some clubs to have boycotted the games have indicated that they are ready to battle the Ghana Football Association should there be sanctions.
