Ex-Republicans player James Adjei tops list for greatest Ghanaian player

Virtually unknown but certainly great. His name is James Agyei, an ex Asante Kotoko and Real Republicans playmaker whose name doesn’t resonate so easily to Ghana football lovers but he has received exceptional reviews from his colleagues like Rev. Osei Kofi and Wilberforce Mfum following Happy FM‘s search for the country’s greatest footballer of all time.

Mfum sang the praises of his ex-teammate and asserts that no player should dare compare himself to James Agyei who was exceptional during his playing days.

“It will be unfortunate for anyone to campare any Ghanaian footballer to James Agyei. He was my teammate so I know what I’m talking about. his qualities as a footballer is rare.” Mr. Mfum told Happy FM.

Veteran football administrator, Nana Fitz also corroborated these assertions and holds that the quality of football that James Adjei exhibited in his days was one which hasn’t been seen from any other Ghanaian footballer yet.

“James Agyei is the greatest footballer that Ghana has produced. I have not seen any player with such skills, flair, and technical abilities like him. He was exceptional and it’s unfortunate he’s been in the dark for so long.” Nana Fitz told Happy FM.

Other players like Baba Yara, Osei Kofi, Mohammed Ahmed Polo, Abdul Razak, Aggrey Fynn, Abedi Pele and Asamoah Gyan
