Ex-GFA President advises government to work with FA statutes to avoid litigations

Former Chairman of the Ghana Football Association, Awuah Nyamekye has advised the government to work with the statutes of the association and avoid unwanted delays from litigation.

According to the veteran football administrator, government should replace members of the Football Association who were caught on camera in the Anas exposé and maintain the Executive Committee who have a year left in their tenure.

Meanwhile, following a successful meeting between government and FIFA last week, a normalization committee is set to be established and the executive committee of the FA disbanded.

Mr. Awuah Nyamekye who was weary of court litigation that could be brought up by the sidelining of the executive committee believes government can right the wrongs by following the statutes of the Football Association.

"In order not to move from one litigation to another, I would advise we work with the GFA statutes, replace the members who were caught in Anas' expose ,vote for a new FA president , go on with our league, let the EXCO members finish their term go to congress and elect new leaders if we want to," he told Asempa FM.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nyamekye also added, henceforth the Ghana Premier League Board be given more power to run the local league.

"Going forward, I suggest we give more powers to the Premier League Board to manage our league," he said.
