Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says Welsh-born British-born starlets Callum Odoi-Hudson and Ethan Ampadu will feature in the side's quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup against AFC Bournemouth on Wednesday.
Ampadu has already been involved in a couple of first team games, and was part of the team that defeated Everton in the round of 16. The Welsh-born midfielder could command a starting berth today.
Meanwhile, Callum Hodson-Odoi who is fresh off winning the FIFA under-17 World Cup with England, signed a new contract with the club and could find himself in the team on Wednesday.
During a pre-match conference, Coach Antonio Conte revealed the youngsters could feature.
‘‘These players could be involved, why not. These players are the future for Chelsea,” he told the chelseafc.com
‘‘Sterling is a really good player, Hudson-Odoi won the U20 World Cup. Ampadu played the last round against Everton, maybe he could start tomorrow,
‘‘Every day Ampadu is working with us and working hard. I must consider the young players, if they deserve to have this chance.”
Callum Hodson-Odoi can still play for Ghana because he is not yet featured for the three lions of England and Ethan Ampadu can also switch to Ghana because he is yet to make a full debut for Wales, despite earning a call up.
