Ghana midfielder Michael Essien will have to continue his recovery under a new boss after Giannis Anastasiou was replaced by Andrea Stramaccioni.
The 39-year-old Italian manager arrived in Greece on Sunday and will be unveiled to the press on Monday afternoon.
Essien, a former Chelsea and AC Milan star, joined Panathanaikos earlier in the summer but has been unable to make his debut for the club following series of injuries.
He will now have to work under Andrea Stramaccioni and hope to be injury free.
