Essien: 7th "wonder" of the world

The British website "Footballing World" has rated Michael Essien seventh among the best 50 footballers in the world from the passed season. Didier Drogba was the only African player rated above Essien.

This is how the Ghanaian midfielder was described:
7. Michael Essien (Chelsea FC)
He appears quiet and unassuming, but the Ghanaian is any manager’s dream. Rarely will you hear dissent from Essien's mouth, even though he was asked to play in defence far more than he would have liked. Mourinho learned, though, that Essien can play just about anywhere and will always give his maximum and in a season of unpredictability, the 24-year-old was the only mark of consistency across the entire squad – and elsewhere within the club. Chelsea's best performer is high on the wish list of all the continent’s top coaches.

The first three players in the classification are: Kaka (AC Milan), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United FC) and Francesco Totti (AS Roma).
They are followed by: Ruud van Nistelrooy (Real Madrid CF), Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona), Didier Drogba (Chelsea FC) taking the sixth place, Michael Essien (Chelsea FC).
Another player of Milan is in top 10 - Gennaro Gattuso (8th place), followed by Steven Gerrard (Liverpool FC) and Frederic Kanoute (Sevilla CF).
