Espanyol to offer mega payprise for Wakaso

Espanyol are lining up a bumper new deal to keep Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso at the Estadi Cornella-El Prat.

The Barcelona-based Spanish La Liga side want to stave off interest from three European suitors.

Russian side Rubin Kazan has reportedly already made an offer worth around £4m.

They were ready to offer him a contract worth SIX times what he currently earns, which is around £175,000 a year.

English Premier League duo Swansea and Everton are hugely interested.

Wakaso is not keen to leave, but Espanyol wants to avoid the situation of him being persuaded by big spending clubs.
