Sekondi Hasaacas recorded their first premier league win of the season when they defeated Techiman City at the Essipong sports stadium on Saturday in a six-goal thriller.

A brace from Eric Bekoe, one from the spot and a stunner in the second half, and another from Amos Korankye and Prince Arko were enough to secure a first win of the season for Yussif Basigi whose team were yet to wake up from their salaries row with management of the club.

With home support acting as the enzyme to speed up response for the setback in Wa last weekend, Sekondi Hasaacas began the game on the front foot and dictated the early proceedings with Richmond Opoku bossing the middle of the pitch.

The pendulum, however, swung in favour of Techiman City who attacked through the right flank with Baba Mahama. A brilliant cross into the box was mishit by Issaka Ibrahim and it caused no danger for George Owu.

The resulting goal kick was passed to the right flank to Eric Bekoe and the former domestic top flight competition goal king was brought down by Fred Boateng (he was booked for the challenge). Amos Korankye stepped up and scored a Beckham-like goal.

Richmond Opoku almost doubled the advantage after a super through ball, but he fluffed the opportunity with only the goalkeeper to beat. The ball ricocheted and fell on the path of Eric Bekoe, but his volley went off target.

A quick attack again with a nicky-trickery by Kojo Poku won him a penalty but Razak Iddrisu saved with a strong leg to deny Daniel Egyin from 12 yards.Hasaacas v Techiman City

Within four minutes, Hasaacas won another penalty and Eric Bekoe took responsibility and made amends for his leader. He sent Razak Iddrisu the wrong way to make it 2-0. Yussif Abubakar reacted and brought on Roger Nortey for Fataw Abdul Rahman.

The substitution seem to have paid dividends, but Eric Bekoe struck a sumptuous ball from 25 yards to close close contest. Yussif Abubakar brought on Yusif Agyarku is for Kamal A. Rahman and he made huge impact.

His opposite number wanting to protect his 3 goals took off hero Eric Bekoe for Saliw Babawo. The former Kotoko striker looked unhappy and his sadness worsened when his influence was felt.

First half substitute Roger Nortey reduced the deficit before Baba Mahama ensured we had nervy 26 minutes to end proceedings.

Techiman City took over the game and destined to earn a hard fought result, but they will be cursing the under foot of the post for denying them when Baba Mahama lobbied the ball over George Owu.

They huffed and puffed but were handed a major blow when Prince Papa Arko on the death.

And Hasaacas won the six-goal thriller.
