Indigenous mining firm Engineers & Planners Co. Ltd. has committed $5 million as headline sponsor of Ghana’s fundraising campaign ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The announcement was made at a public fundraising event held in Accra on March 20, 2026.
The significant investment is expected to provide a major boost to the Black Stars’ preparations as the team gears up for the tournament, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Ghana has been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.
The fundraising campaign is aimed at mobilising the resources needed to meet the demands of elite competition, including logistics, training, and overall team preparation.
E&P’s involvement marks a major corporate contribution to Ghanaian football and underscores its longstanding role and commitment in supporting sports development nationwide. The sponsorship is also expected to ease financial pressures on the Ghana Football Association as it finalises plans for the World Cup campaign.
The donation was presented on behalf of the company by Director of Operations Biliguo Eric Adama and Special Aide to Ibrahim Mahama, Rafik Mahama, highlighting the company's longstanding commitment and continued support to the development of sports in Ghana.
Further details of the fundraising campaign and additional sponsors are expected to be announced in the coming days.
