Chief Executive Officer (CEO)of Asamoah Gyan Foundation, Samuel Anim Addo, has expressed dissatisfaction over Emmanuel Tagoe’s inability to win the Sports Writers Association of Ghana’s Personality of the Year Award.

At the 42nd SWAG Awards gala held at the Banquet Hall of the State House last Saturday, former Ghana international Anthony Baffoe was named Sports Personality of the Year.

And According to Anim Addo, the reigning IBO lightweight champion deserved to win the award instead of Baffoe.

“I am highly disappointed with the award [snub]. I think the only living world champion in Ghana now is Emmanuel Tagoe…” he told Class Sports.

“Tagoe has won bouts and with the world title hanging around his waist as the only Ghanaian boxer with a world title, yet we cannot recognise him. With such title and yet he can’t be recognised, then from what I have seen I don’t know what criteria was used to adjudge the winners.”
