Former Ghana and Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong says that Ajax playmaker Donny van de Beek would be the perfect replacement for Aaron Ramsey after the Dutchman scored against Tottenham in the Champions League semi-final.

Ramsey is expected to leave the Gunners at the end of the season and played his last game for the club after injuring his hamstring against Napoli in the UEFA Europa League.

The 28-year-old, who has been at Arsenal for 11 years and played over 350 matches has signed a pre-contract agreement with Italian champions Juventus, after failing to agree new terms on his current deal with the north Londoners.

Frimpong took to Twitter as he identified his replacement when he leaves in the summer.

Born in Ghana, Frimpong represented England at youth level before switching allegiance and made his solitary appearance for the Black Stars against Sudan in 2013.

The midfielder, who started his career at Arsenal and made six senior appearances for the club, played extensively on loan in England before spells in Russia, Sweden, and Cyprus.

In March 2019, he announced his retirement at the age of 27 because of a persistent knee injury.
