Emmanuel Clottey and Great Olympics part ways

Emmanuel Clottey and Ghana Premier League side Great Olympics have parted ways ahead of league resumption.

The 32-year old joined the Accra-based side prior to the start of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season after partying ways with Cypriot side Yalova SK in the 2016/17 season.

According to the club's Chief Executive Officer Mr. Commodore, Clottey's contract was terminated after his case with Asante Kotoko and Esperance de Tunis.

"Yes what he told you is true. We terminated the contract when the case arose.

"On paper, it is terminated, we’ve signed a termination [with him]", Mr. Commodore confirmed.

It will be recalled that, FIFA fined Asante Kotoko $240,000 over the transfer of Emmanuel Clottey from Esperance which was proven illegitimate because he had an unfinished contract with the Tunisian giant.

He won the 2010/11 GPL title with Berekum Chelsea and finished the 2006/07 league season as top scorer, scoring 14 goals for Great Olympics.
