Kumasi Asante Kotoko piped Division one campaigners Vision FC 1-0 in an interclub preseason friendly played at the Tema sports stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Saturday’s game which was the 12th in the series of trial matches played by the team in the off-season saw the ‘porcupine warriors’ parade most of their regular players most of whom featured in the G-6 Invitational Tournament as well as in the two matches played in Libya.
Both teams started the game confidently, but it was Kotoko who soon took over the possession and dictated the pace of the game, making several incursions into the penalty box of Vision FC.
It came as little surprise that on one of those many occasions, Vision FC conceded a foul in their penalty box which saw referee award a penalty against them in the 14th minute of the game.
Young striker, Elvis Amoh coolly planted the ball at the back of the net to register the first goal of the game, an action that later turned out to be the match-winner for coach David Duncan’s men.
