Elmina Sharks incurring more cost over league delay

The General Manager of Elmina Sharks, George Wiredu has spoken on the delay to the start of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League saying that, they are incurring an unbudgeted cost as they wait.

He said the team recruited new players to augment their squad in anticipation that the season will start so they can make some revenue to offset their debts explaining that, the more the competition’s fate hangs in a balance, there more cost clubs like Elmina Sharks incur.

“The league delay has made us incur extra cost” he stated maintaining that, they have to do more to keep their club running in the midst of the stalemate.

“We will not let that stop us from preparing for the league season. Football is a whole lot of things. The new players that will need time to [settle] and by the time the league starts, they will be doing well” said George Wiredu in a media interaction.

Elmina Sharks have targeted a top four finished and have tasked coach Yaw Acheampong and his deputy, Felix Aboagye to work hard to put the team in shape.
