Division One side Secondi Eleven Wise last week wrote to the Ghana Football Association telling them they had no business to do with one Jacob Ashun who was said to have received an FA Appeals Committee decision on behalf of the club.
“It has come to the notice of the Life Patron and Chairman of the Board of Sekondi Eleven Wise F/C that one Jacob Ashun, Junior has received documents (Appeals Committee decision) on behalf of the club.
We are hereby serving notice that the said Jacob Ashun, Junior has never been an accredited member of Sekondi Eleven Wise F/C; in fact is not known as a Sekondi Eleven Wise F/C Supporter,” the letter read.
“We therefore dissociate ourselves from any act of his and implore the GFA not to deal with Jacob Ashun, Junior on behalf of the club,” the letter of disclaimer insisted.
The disclaimer cited letters written to the FA in response to a communication from the football body asking clubs to submit accredited board and management members.
“Indeed, none of the two official documents submitted to the GFA (dated 22nd November, 2010 and 20th October, 2011 copies attached) in respect to accredited officials of the club for the 2010-2012 seasons has his name stated in both letters under reference as an official of the club, empowered to deal for and on behalf of the club” the letter stated.
Speaking to Finder Sports in an interview, the Board Chairman of Eleven Wise Mr Rex Danquah said the club was forced to issue a disclaimer following a case they had lost on appeal on the grounds that the said Ashun had received some decisions on behalf of the club.
He said they had filed for a review of the decision, insisting that the right things must be done in football.
“It beats my imagination that in spite of letters we wrote to the GFA explicitly stating who the board members and management of Eleven Wise were, the Appeals Committee still went on to deal with someone who is not an official of the club; it is like me going to receive a letter on behalf of Kwesi Nyantekyi” he noted.
