The Ghana goalkeeping coach talks about the qualification of the Pharaohs for the 2018 fiesta

Ghana goalkeepers' trainer Richard 'Olele' Kingson is backing Egypt to go all the way at next year's World Cup in Russia after beating the Black Stars to the qualifying ticket.

In Group E, which also housed Uganda and Congo, the Pharaohs held their own, impressively finishing four points clear at the top to return to the global showpiece for the first time since 1990.

Hector Cuper's men won four of six matches, drawing one and losing one.

''I will like to congratulate all the Egyptians," Kingson told Egyptian TV ON Sport.

"They deserve to be the there and we Ghanaians will support them with our prayers and everything from the beginning to the end.

''Personally, I will wish them well and I will pray for them to get to the semi-final or even win the World Cup for Africans.

''I know it's difficult but with hard work, you can get there.''

Kingson knows the World Cup too well as not only was he part of Ghana's maiden campaign at the gathering in 2006 but was also part of the set-up that made it to the quarter-finals of the 2010 edition in South Africa.

Now goalkeeping coach, luck could not smile on him the third time as Egypt snatched the sole group ticket from the Black Stars.
