Eastern FA elections fixed for Sept. 12

Accra, Sept. 7, GNA - The Eastern Regional Football Association (RFA) elections will finally take place on Monday, September 12 in Koforidua, the Regional capital.

This follows the dismissal of an interlocutory injunction filed by a Second Division side on the election by the Human Right Court for the elections of Regional Chairmanship originally scheduled for last July.

The injunction stemmed from levels of accusations against the incumbent Abdul Ganiyu Lawal, and the plaintiff prayed to the court to disqualify him from contesting for re-election.

A statement signed by Emmanuel Gyimah, Acting General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) copied to GNA Sports said the election has therefore been scheduled for September 12 at 10h00 at Koforidua.

Incumbent Lawal and Nana Kwadwo Budu II, Founder of Suhum Maxbees are vying for the right to represent the Region on the GFA Executive Committee.
