Eagle FM emerges champions

Cape Coast, Dec.31, GNA - Eagle FM station of the Cape Coast Polytechnic on Saturday won the gala champions in a special soccer competition held at the Robert Mensah Stadium to climax the Christmas activities. Six FM stations in the Cape Coast Municipality and Elmina made up of Radio Central, Eagle, Valco, YES, ATL and Ahomka participated in the competitions sponsored by a number of organizations including 91Look and Pick' and Ankogan Phones. Eagle FM beat YES 1-0 in the finals to lift the trophy presented by Nana Ato Arthur, Central Regional Minister.
The Regional Minister also donated a set of jerseys to the winning team and in added one million cedis to each of the participating teams. Eagle FM also received a 24 inch Television set, while the runner up, YES FM received a 14 inch T.V set and some TIGO products. Radio Central who beat ATL 5-3 on penalties for the third position to receive a ceiling fan and TIGO products. Kwame Oduro of YES FM was declared the goal king for scoring two goals while 91DJ Pounds' was adjudged the overall best player.
